Well, I was schooled in parenting tonight! Kaylee was very tired tonight. She was really eager to go to bed and kept insisting on putting herself to bed. Thinking how my sweet little angel is really growing up, I let her walk into her room. I followed her and tucked her in. We can usually hear her talking and singing as she falls asleep. Tonight she was very quiet. At one point I even made mention to John about bed time seeming too easy and quiet tonight. He smiled and said, "She was so tired." Both of us, being the proud parents we are, were sure she was fast asleep in her bed.
1 hour and 20 minutes later, I opened up her door. The covers jerk and I see a light under the covers. I was thinking she was playing with her flash light. I walked to her bed and say, "Give it to me." She pulled back the covers and handed me my iPod. I noticed right away I did not feel the cover. I asked her about the cover and turned on her light to look for it. As I am moving everything looking for the cover, I found the baby monitor under her pillow! I asked, "What is this doing here?" Kaylee replied, "I didn't want you to hear me and know I was playing the iPod."
When I shared all of this with John, he said, "I am impressed with her ingenuity. She really had to think about this and plan it. Her plan was genius. You can't be mad!"
We have yet to figure out when she took and hid these items. I believe it had to be before bath time..... So this was an event planned earlier today.
My sweet little four-year-old angel has been cooking up plans!
Now that is one smart cookie! I love it! Laughing over here. Maybe I won't be when it's Ellie in a few years. ha!
